Description

The SteriPEN® Aqua is an affordable UV water purifier that can treat a litre of water in 90 seconds, killing 99.9% of bacteria, viruses and protozoa that cause water-borne illness. It operates on four AA batteries (alkaline, lithium or rechargeable) and has a UV lamp that lasts for 3000 treatments. The LED display shows treatment size and status of the batteries and UV lamp and will light up when the treatment is done. Ideal for occasional adventures and home civil defence kits.

  • Perfect for occasional travel and home emergency kits – lasts for up to 3,000 liters of water purification
  • Sleek and ergonomic with an easy-to-remove twist-off lamp cover
  • Ultraviolet (UV-C) light rays safely purify clear water by destroying 99.9% of protozoa (including Giardia and Cryptosporidia), bacteria and even viruses
  • Treatment time is 48 or 90 seconds (half or full litre) and when the treatment is complete, the lamp turns off and an LED indicator lights up so you know you can hydrate safely
  • Use only on clear water, as cloudy, sediment-laden water hinders effectiveness

Care
  • While Aqua’s battery compartment is designed to be highly water-resistant, it is not waterproof. Avoid submerging Aqua’s battery end in water.
  • Aqua’s battery performance may be adversely affected by cold weather. In temperatures below 0°C carry the unit close to your body or warm up batteries before use. If batteries are too cold, Aqua’s LED indicator may give low battery signal. Warm up batteries and treat again.
  • Make sure to dry Aqua after each use.
  • When not in use, Aqua should be kept in a safe place that is clean and dry. It should not be exposed to temperatures above 49°C or below -20°C.
  • To clean Aqua, wash with a soft cloth and a mild soap solution. Rinse soap from device and dry with a clean, soft cloth.
  • If Aqua’s bulb is cracked, chipped or damaged, don’t use it. Return it to the store or contact SteriPEN for repair.< /li>
